Camacho leads inter-agency convening on the health, safety, security of school district
Commissioner of Education Dr. Lawrence F. Camacho, joined by the Public School System’s Emergency Crisis Team, met with key CNMI health, safety, and security agency partners during an interagency collaboration meeting last March 15.
Held at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan’s Napu Room, Camacho met with the key officials from the Department of Public Safety, Department of Fire and Emergency Management Services, Department of Homeland Security, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., Saipan Mayor’s Office, and the American Red Cross-CNMI Chapter.
The education chief engaged with the school district’s agency partners on a whole range of topics that relates to school safety, security, and well-being, which, among others, are contained in the PSS Emergency Operation Plan. The PSS-EOP is designed to handle various types of challenges, including threats, mitigation strategies, and training and improvements on all 20 elementary, middle, and high school campuses on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
