Lady Sufa crushed 670 Magas Babes, 19-5, in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association women’s division last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.
Lady Sufa kept the runs coming even after the Babes went radio silent early in the game. The Babes barely kept their head above water after they scored three in the first from Rachel Salalila, Pauline Camacho, and Cat Dela Cruz’s runs.
The lead switched to the Lady Sufa’s favor quickly after they answered with four runs, to make it 4-3 by the second inning.
Two more runs would score for Lady Sufa and doubled the gap, 6-3, after the Babes failed to produce in the second. The third inning was when the Babes added their final two runs, as Lady Sufa pitcher Eileen Babauta went on to shut them down in the next innings.
Lady Sufa would score six in the third and seven more in the fourth, winning by a margin of 14 runs. Ashley Angui scored four runs, while Jaylina Borja, Bong Babauta, Sheena Maratita, Miyah Duenas, Brinae Cruz, and Jen Dela Cruz contributed two apiece.
Lady Blue Jays 10, BDE 1
The Lady Blue Jays shut down BDE, 10-1.
The only run for BDE was scored by Keyona Tudela in the fourth, while the Lady Blue Jays scattered their runs across the game.
Four runs came for the Lady Blue Jays in the first inning after back-to-back runs scored by Kianu Aldan, Kiana Camacho, Amy Cabrera, and Carey Demapan.
Cabrera and Demapan would score one more each in the third for a 6-0 lead. After BDE’s run in the fourth, four more runs were added by the Lady Blue Jays, and pitcher Angel Deleon Guerrero wrapped up the win with six scoreless innings.
Bat & Boujee 12, Boleras 7
Bat & Boujee outscored Boleras, 12-7.
Boleras actually had a 4-3 lead in the second inning after Bon Iguel, Juanah Lizama, Tori Pangelinan, and K.K. Aguon scored, but they couldn’t hold on to it as Bat & Boujee came bounding back.
Bat & Boujee’s Nish Mario and Lorna Iginoef scored two in the third to tie it up, 5-5, then their lead just skyrocketed from there. Boleras posted up only two more runs and Bat & Boujee took advantage. They scored four in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one in the seventh, to win by five runs.
Results of the men’s division will be posted in the next issues of Saipan Tribune.
