Man arrested for hitting another man with crowbar

A man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly hitting another man on the head with a crowbar in a fit of rage.

Over the weekend, Lucky Michael Chipuelong, was arrested for allegedly hitting another man’s head and body multiple times with a crowbar. Due to the alleged assault, the victim sustained a 3-inch laceration on the head.

Chipuelong, 36, has since been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace.

During his bail hearing last Monday before Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho, a $10,000 cash bail was imposed on Chipuelong.

After the bail hearing, Chipuelong was remanded back to Department of Corrections’ custody and was ordered to return to court for a preliminary hearing on April 17 while his arraignment was set for April 22.

According to court documents, the victim told police that he was drinking with another person at an apartment in San Antonio when Chipuelong approached him with a crowbar and began hitting him on his head and body.

The victim added he and Chipuelong had known each other for more than 10 years, and he was surprised by the attack.

Police said the victim complained of severe pain in his left rib area and a bad headache during an interview in the emergency room of the hospital.

Chipuelong, for his part, told investigators that he was angry at a friend for using money to buy beer for the victim instead of buying food for his kids.

He said he wanted to teach the two men a lesson so he took out his anger on the victim. He also admitted using a crowbar to hit the victim.

A witness told police that Chipuelong walked up the stairs holding a crowbar in his right hand.

The witness said he saw Chipuelong approach the victim, who was drinking beer. swing the crowbar at the victim’s head three times causing the victim to fall to the floor. While the victim was on the floor, the witness said Chipuelong hit the victim again in the rib area.

The witness added he pinned Chipuelong against a metal window frame and had to hold tight to keep Chipuelong from hitting the victim again.

Court documents state that another witness came out of the apartment and grabbed the crowbar from Chipuelong before he walked down the apartment stairs and left the area.

Chipuelong was later arrested on the rooftop of a building in San Antonio.
