Cruz continues dominance in Intermediate Class

Four Marianas Racing Association races and four wins so far for Aric Cruz as he again dominated the Intermediate Class of the May 2024 “MOTO IV” Points Race Series last Sunday at the Cowtown Race Park in Marpi.

The 17-year-old junior at Saipan Southern High School won both heats anew—like the previous six in the February, March, and April races—for another perfect 50 points. Vicente “Beng” Palacios came in second with his 44 points, while Henry Camacho Jr. rounded out third with his 38 points.

“I guess the one thing that was working for me was the drive to just have fun. The weather at the Cowtown motocross was very, very hot and dry. I want to dedicate this race to my family for supporting me while I train, practice, and race,” he said.

Cruz went on to thank sponsors ERICCO Racing Team, Inas Kitchen, YCO Hardware True Value, 670 Rock Steady Shop, TurnKey Solutions, Chokechain, Pokka (Marpac), Marianas Native, Winners Hardware, and Pacific Line Construction. He also extended his thanks to the tent donation from House Speaker Edmund Villagomez (Ind-Saipan) and Reps. Malcom Omar (Ind-Saipan), Marissa Flores (Ind-Saipan), and Diego Camacho (D-Saipan).

In the Peewee TV Class, Ayven Sablan was the lone rider and took all the 50 points up for grabs.

Nakoa Torres, meanwhile, topped the Mini ATV Class with his 47 points followed by the 25 points of Austin Yumul.

In the Mini II, T.J. Ferrer won anew with a perfect score of 50 points. Calix Cruz was second with his 44 points.

Results of the other classes of the May 2024 “MOTO IV” Points Race Series will be published in the next issues of Saipan Tribune.
