McDonald’s Saipan donates $3K to NMA/PSS

McDonald’s Saipan is once again a major sponsor with a $3,000 donation to the Northern Marianas Athletics All Schools PSS/McDonald’s Track and Field 2023-2024 season last Friday.

Marcia Ayuyu, vice president and owner/operator of McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan, turned over the check to NMA president Ramon Tebuteb, NMA coach/development officer Elias Rangamar, and PSS Athletics Program director Nick Gross at McDonald’s Chalan Kiya.

The elementary school 9U/12U division wrapped up their championships last Friday and Saturday, with Saipan International School crowned girls team championships, while Tinian Elementary School was named the boys team champions for the first time.

This Friday and Saturday is the 18U/14U middle school/high school championship round.

Tebuteb said in sports, partnership and community engagement are crucial for success. The longstanding partnership with McDonald’s has been instrumental in supporting sports programs and positively impacting the community.

“There are really no words but to say thank you. The partnership is very crucial for the development of the athletes. But more importantly, it’s the connection that we have with PSS, McDonald’s, and the whole community and the positive impact it has created,” said Tebuteb on their 19-year partnership with McDonald’s.

With the $3,000 donation, Tebuteb said it’s more than sufficient. The expenses will be split between basic expenses and what the sports director/manager sees fit. “Athletics is one of the most unique sport because unlike other sports, we need a lot of equipment. The equipment that we purchase is not cheap,” he said.

Gross also emphasized the importance of the partnership and highlighted the long-term commitment of McDonald’s and the positive impact on PSS Athletics Programs and students.

“We’re just so very thankful for the partnerships… It’s a fantastic partnership to continue to bring our community together and enjoy sports and wellness, with kids enjoying the opportunity to showcase their talents,” said Gross.
