Jones tops CWGA June tourney; Tudela wins SGA tilt
Sherlyn Jones topped the CNMI Women’s Golf Association’s June monthly tourney last June 8 at the LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.
The Marianas Health, LLC staff fired a net score of 83 to nip Lou Kim who finished with a net score of 84.
“In golf temperature, rain, wind, and humidity can always have effect on the game. But this day the weather was beautiful and this group of girls were all having fun not much of a competition. It’s a matter of enjoying our time together so I dedicate this game to all our CWGA girls,” said Jones.

The Saipan Golf Association, meanwhile, hailed Joe Sablan for topping the SGA 2024 May Ace of the Month Tournament last June 2 at the LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort west Course.
Alex Tudela actually had the best score of the tourney with his net 75, but since he already won in February his runner-up Sablan took the plum with his net 79. Jung Eun Teack got third place with his net 80.
Sablan now joins the 2024 Ace of the Month winners—Larry Deleon Guerrero (January), Tudela (February), Nick Sablan (March), and Das Krishnan (April).
In the closest to the pin competition, Freddie Cataluna was without peer on hole No. 3, while Tudela did the same on hole No. 7. Rene Batallones, meanwhile, won the longest drive on hole No. 5, while Tudela brought the lumber on hole No. 18.
