Wetter weather to persist into the weekend

The National Weather Service based off of Tiyan, Guam reports that wet season pattern will persist across the Marianas through the weekend.

According to the NWS’ regional weather outlook report, light trades and fair-weather conditions persist across the Marianas this week.

“Wetter weather exists eastward from a broad circulation centered southwest of Chuuk to the Marshall Islands. Moderate trades and sunny skies prevail across the Marianas so expect only spotty showers through Thursday. A weak circulation in Chuuk State will pass south of Guam later this week, bringing a higher chance of showers to the Marianas Friday. Winds across the region will shift to the south over the weekend, due to possible weather development in the Philippine Sea. This could also generate a wetter weather pattern this weekend into next week,” said NWS.

For Yap and Palau, a weak circulation to the east will shift toward Palau and Yap, bringing wetter weather into the weekend.

“Light and variable winds through Saturday will shift to the southwest and monsoon-like by Sunday into early next week,” said NWS.

For Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, and Majuro, a wetter weather pattern is generating showers and thunderstorms across much of the region.

“A series of surface troughs will push westward with improved weather conditions around the end of the week. Moderate to fresh trades will bring more showers early next week to the eastern FSM and the Marshalls.
