Latte FC and KES partner for tree planting event
Latte Football Club, in partnership with Koblerville Elementary School, successfully organized a tree planting event on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 7, as part of the club’s commitment to giving back to the school community.
The event saw the planting of more than 35 trees and plants on the school grounds, many of which were gathered by vice principal Jonas Barcinas, with some donated by school supporters.
This project was a gesture of gratitude to the school for allowing Latte FC’s youth teams to use the school’s field for weekly practices.
Latte FC president Alex Sablan shared his thoughts on the event, stating, “Our club members are dedicated stewards of the environment we live and play in. The tree planting effort by our women’s teams, coaches and club leadership reflects our commitment to give back to the community and leave the world a little better than we found it. We truly appreciate the collaboration with Vice Principal Barcinas and KES. We hope to continue improving the campus while engaging the school’s youth and introducing them to soccer, in the hopes that they will develop a passion for the game.”
Zowie Cruz, a participant in the event and 2023 Miss Northern Marianas Earth, added, “It was an honor to be part of this event, especially with my term as Miss Earth concluding. Being involved in such a meaningful project is a reminder of the impact we can make in our community. I am proud of our club’s efforts to both beautify the school and inspire our youth to stay active, not just through soccer, but also by engaging in environmental activities like tree planting.”
As the first of many planned projects, the tree planting event highlights how soccer, a global and unifying sport, can support important causes like environmental stewardship. This project reflects Latte FC’s values, demonstrating how combining soccer with meaningful service can create positive and lasting impacts on our community.
