Women’s softball league meeting today

In preparation for the NMI Softball Association Inc.’s women’s slow pitch softball league, they are holding a meeting today, Wednesday, 6pm, at the Marianas High School counselor’s office.

So far, there are six teams registered and the league is still accepting teams. In the meeting, the teams should have half or their full entrance fee payments. The entrance fee is $350.

The six teams so far as of last week are the Lady Blue Jays, Batties, Lady Sufa, Dirty Diamonds, Boleras, and Man Amigas.

As for the schedule and venue of the league, the details will be given during the meeting after all teams have registered.

NMI Softball Association president Froilan Camacho, who also manages the Lady Blue Jays, said that the league is for women who love to play softball. The only other women’s slow pitch league is in the annual Belau Amateur Softball Association women’s division and he said, “Why wait for BASA, right?”

For those who are interested and for more information, email Camacho at camacho_775@hotmail.com or nmisoftball@gmail.com. Follow their social media pages on Facebook: NMI Softball Association and Instagram: NMIsoftball.

The NMI National Fast-Pitch Softball Team poses with their bronze medal after their historic run in the 10th Micronesian Games in the Marshall Islands last June.
