Another suspect in Pretty Tour burglary identified, arrested
Another suspect in the burglary at Pretty Tour Car Rental in Garapan has been arrested and has reportedly admitted his role to police investigators.
As this developed, the alleged principal suspect, Roland Hernandez Muña, was taken to Superior Court on Friday on charges of burglary, theft, and theft of vehicle. Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $50,000 cash bail.
Police detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that John Deleon Guerrero was arrested on July 1 and that he admitted that he was with Muña when the latter burglarized Pretty Tour Car Rental office in the evening of June 30, 2014.
Pangelinan said surveillance cameras at two establishments corroborated Deleon Guerrero’s statements.
Deleon Guerrero has yet to be taken to court as police are still doing further investigation.
Pangelinan said two police officers were dispatched to Pretty Tour Car Rental on July 1 at 7:54am, after receiving a report of a burglary and theft incident.
The Pretty Tour employee disclosed that unknown suspects managed to get inside the office by entering a small bathroom window. The suspects then exited through the back door.
Stolen were a cell phone and several keys for Ford Mustangs, Toyota 4 Runners, FJ Cruisers, and keys to an apartment on the second floor of the Pretty Tour Car Rental building. The FJ Cruiser with license plate ACS 903 was stolen from the parking lot.
Later that day, police placed an “all post bulletin” for police officers to be on the lookout for the stolen FJ Cruiser.
A police officer spotted the FJ Cruiser and pulled it over near the Ichiban Ramen noodle place in Garapan. The driver, identified as Jameson P. Hemley, confessed to police that Muña, Deleon Guerrero, and Alexander Borja gave him the vehicle in the early morning of June 30.
Hemley disclosed that Muña, Deleon Guerrero, and Borja were operating a red mini smart car.
At 8:42am on that same day of July 1, a police officer spotted the mini smart car along Beach Road in Chalan Laulau and identified the driver as Deleon Guerrero and the passengers as Borja and Joseph T. White.
The officers recovered from the car the stolen car keys and keys to a hotel room.
Deleon Guerrero was then arrested and detained for illegal possession of stolen items.
On the same day at 12:23pm, two police officers spotted a car being driven by Muña near Martha’s Store in Garapan. Muña and his passengers, Regina Bowie and John Blas, were escorted to Commonwealth Bureau of Investigation for interview.
Bowie was found in possession of the stolen key for a Ford Mustang owned by Pretty Tour.
Bowie confessed that in the early morning of June 30 at the KFC Poker parking lot, Muña flashed a bundle of keys and bragged that he has a Mustang, Hummer, and FJ Cruiser at his parking lot.
Bowie told police that Muña handed her the key to the Ford Mustang that was found in her possession. Another woman said she saw Muña hand the key to Bowie.
Muña, 25, exercised his constitutional rights and refused to give a statement to police.
Police arrested Muña in Dandan on Thursday afternoon. His arrest was made after the NMI Crime Stoppers Program issued a press release, seeking the community’s assistance in finding him.
Crime Stoppers coordinator Jason Tarkong said Muña eluded police officers who tried to serve him with an arrest warrant.
