Hoops finals in sight for Hardt Eye

Hardt Eye Clinic is the team to beat in the Ali’i Inc./Madflex Sports Summer Youth Basketball Tour 2024 Season 1 as they were the first team to reach the finals last Sunday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Hardt Eye Clinic won in a close matchup over Blue Haus, 82-78.

Hardt Eye Clinic’s leading scorers Jezzpher Navarro, Christian Lucero, and Derek Tenorio went head-to-head with a tough Blue Haus team led by Dane Tibayan, Onick Ragbonshe, and Ibrahim Ibrahola.

It was a close matchup as they ended the second half, 32-30, in favor of Hardt Eye Clinic. The second half saw an even more intense level of play as both teams wanted to secure the first finals spot of the inaugural league.

But when it came down to it, Tenorio put up back-to-back threes, plus 2 points under the basket and this allowed Hardt Eye some breathing room. Lucero then made some free throws while Blue Haus tried to dig in for a rally.

However, Hardt Eye Clinic held on to win by 4 points as Blue Haus stumbled and couldn’t get their shots in, while Hardt Eye’s lead was enough to seal their trip to the finals.

The last semis game between J.T.M. and Blue Haus will be played tomorrow, Saturday, at 4pm at the Ada Gym.

The championship game between Hardt Eye and the winner of J.T.M. and Blue Haus will be played on Sunday at 2pm, also at the Ada Gym. Awarding of winners, the Mythical 5, and MVP will take place right after.
