$25K cash bail placed on man who beat up woman
Following his arrest for allegedly beating up a woman, a 41-year-old man is facing a $25,000 fine and charges of disturbing the peace, assault, assault and battery, aggravated assault and battery, and domestic violence.
Nicholas Aldan Rabauliman appeared before Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho last Friday at the NMI Superior Court in Susupe where the bail was set at $25,000.
Upon the request of the victim, Camacho placed a Temporary Restraining Order on Rabauliman to not be in contact with her. Camacho also scheduled a preliminary hearing for Rabauliman on Oct. 24 at 10am. The arraignment is set for Nov. 18 at 9am. Public defense attorney Molly Dennert was appointed to represent Rabauliman and Chief Prosecutor Chester Hinds will represent the government. Rabauliman was remanded back to the Department of Corrections.
According to the case file, on Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, 2024, DPS Central dispatched officers to a reported disturbing the peace incident at the Commonwealth Health Care Corp. When officers arrived at CHCC Emergency Room they met with a physician who informed them that a patient went to the emergency room at around 5:30pm with a headache and feeling nauseous and dizzy. The doctor had ordered a CT scan to be done for the patient who had bruising around her eyes, behind her ears and on her neck.
The doctor said that the patient, also identified as the victim had a concussion.
She further stated that the victim had an argument with Rabauliman over the weekend and that he punched and head-butted her. The victim had told the doctor that she stayed home to minimize the problem, so no police report was made, but also told filed a TRO against Rabauliman. The doctor stated that she had to report the incident due to her position.
Officers were then brought to meet with the victim and observed the woman to have red eyes and some purple and yellowish bruising on her face below her eyes. The doctor said that she also observed small bruising on the upper side of both arms of the victim.
Police interviewed the woman and she confirmed that she and Rabauliman did have an argument, which escalated as Rabauliman got upset with her. She stated that an angered Rabauliman got close to her, and she shoved him, and was quickly pushed to the wall, and thrown to the ground. While she was on the ground, Rabauliman punched her face several times telling at her. The victim told the cops that Rabauliman realized what he was doing and told her to get up, but she couldn’t because she felt dizzy. He then threatened to hit her with a baseball bat if she didn’t get up. She told him again that she couldn’t because she was dizzy, so he left her on the floor and began apologizing. She said that she had tried to wait the pain out and stayed at her home the whole weekend.
Police also reviewed the victims CHCC medical records from when she arrived at the hospital, and reported that the medical records indicate that the bruises on both of the victim’s eyes were due to being punched, and that she has symptoms consistent with concussion. It also stated that she had been experiencing dizziness and loss of appetite for four days, bruises on her arms, back, chest, both eyes, mouth and behind her ears. The victim said she doesn’t know for sure whether she lost consciousness, but thinks she blacked out multiple times during the incident.

Nicholas Aldan Rabauliman is escorted out of the courtroom following his bail hearing last Friday.
