ASAN, Guam—The Guam State Historic Preservation Office, in coordination with Joint Region Marianas, will accept public comments for the Department of Defense public access plan until Aug. 14.

Comments are being sought to assist with the development of the plan, which will facilitate public visits to historic sites of interest on DOD properties, as well as allow citizens to safely collect culturally important natural resources.

Copies of the document are available at the Mayors Council of Guam, Guam Historic Preservation Trust, University of Guam Robert F. Kennedy Library, Richard F. Taitano Micronesian Area Research Center, and the Nieves M. Flores Public Library.

Online copies are available at the Cultural Resource Information website go.usa.gov/kZWG (case sensitive) and JRM website www.cnic.navy.mil/regions/jrm.html.

The public is invited to learn more about the access plan July 19 from 10am to 2pm at the Agana Shopping Center and July 27 from 10am to 2pm at the Micronesia Mall.

Following the public review period, comments will be considered and the plan will be finalized. This program is expected to become active in late 2014. (JRM)
