GCC offering ‘Free College’ for qualifying students
The Guam Community College is once again offering Free College to qualifying students for the Spring 2025 Semester, which starts on Jan. 8, 2025. To be eligible for Free College, students are required to major in one of the designated associate degree programs or in two construction certificate programs. To qualify, students must major in one of the designated associate degree programs or two of the designated Construction Trades Certificate Programs. All applicants for the Free College program must:
- Submit complete official educational transcripts (diplomas will not be accepted)
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Fill out the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) regardless of their qualification status
- Enroll on a full-time basis and must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Students who do not complete their degree or certificate program will be required to pay back tuition and related fees. For applicants who are eligible for partial funding through FAFSA, Free College will cover the remaining amount for tuition and fees.
To start, fill out the online Free College application or in-person at the GCC campus in Mangilao. Once the application is processed, students will receive an email containing their Student Information (MyGCC Account) and further instructions on registering for classes. For new students looking for help with the college application process, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and class registration, the Reach for College (RFC) Office at GCC is available to guide applicants with the digital form.
