Kilili’s offices to close up shop

Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (D-MP) has officially announced that his congressional offices will close its doors after Dec. 13 as delegate-elect Kimberlyn King-Hinds prepares to take the reins.

In his e-Kilili newsletter last Friday, Sablan announced that his congressional offices on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will remain open to the public through Dec. 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, his Capitol congressional office in Washington, D.C. will be vacated effective Nov. 21.

“Effective Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, your Capitol congressional office at 2267 Rayburn House Office Building will be vacated,” the e-newsletter said.

Sablan explains all members of the U.S. Congress who are retiring or were not re-elected are moving out to allow the House of Representatives to prepare for the next Congress that will convene on Jan. 3, 2025.

He said the Washington-based congressional staff will still be present but in a common workspace at Rayburn House to answer calls or help constituents with tours of the Capitol.

“Only the physical office that has been our home for the last four years will no longer be available. Meanwhile, the congressional offices on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will remain as they are and open to serve you through Dec. 13,” Sablan said.
