Pedal for Health on Nov. 24
The Pedal for Health 2024 Saipan Unity Lions Club Year-End Bike Race is set for Sunday, Nov. 24.
The registration fee is $25 and comes with a free T-shirt. Online registration at https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=369061 closes on Friday, Nov. 22.
Categories are male/female road bike short course, male/female mountain bike short course, male/female road bike short course, and male/female mountain bike long course.
The route for the long course is from Banzai Cliff, to Tanapag Mobil, Suicide Cliff, Bird Island, Grotto, then back to Banzai Cliff.
Meanwhile, the short course is from the Banzai Cliff, to Tanapag Mobil, and back to Banzai Cliff.
Medals will be awarded to the overall Top 3 winners in the male/female categories, road bike/mountain bike categories, short/long course categories, and age categories.
There’s also a raffle with a smart TV as the grand prize. First prize is $200, second is $100, third is $50 for two winners, as well as many more consolation prizes.
In last year’s race, J.R. Barrios and J.C. Ferrer topped the road bike their respective road bike division. Barrios finished with a time of 1:12.58, while Ferrer was the lone biker in the women’s division and finished at 1:27:07.
As for the mountain bike division, Butch Sublemente and Kris Romero won first place in their respective divisions. Sublemente came in at 1.20:22, while Romero clocked in at 1:55:00.
