8th Tan Holdings tennis classic kicks off today

At least five out of 45 doubles matches will be played today to kick off the 6th Tan Holding Tennis Classic tournament at the American Memorial Park Tennis Center courts according to Tournament Director Eli Buenaventura.
Beginning at 8:00 am, the team of Yumiko Tanaka and Yuko Kabayashi will play against the perennial partnership of Sally Cacdac and Matty Buenaventura in the Women’s 4.0 division. The duo of Joy Minor and Noli Tiosejo will face Atsuko Yamagishi and Mayumi Kamiya.
In the Men’s 4.0 section, the tandem of Perry Cacdac and Jun Mahigne will battle against Chuck Sayon and Rommel Tiosejo a, and the too pair of Dino Jones and Muhammad Asraf will meet Eli Buenaventura and Robert Coracero both at 3:30 p.m.
Jun Villanueva and Manny Jaraplasan will slug it out with the strong team of Bong Gamab and Jun Villafuerte at 5:00 pm.
With some matches played before the weekend, the tournament committee is hoping to thwart any backlog of matches in case mother nature does not cooperate. Self-arranged matches are also scheduled tomorrow Friday night. “We just want to be on schedule” Buenaventura quipped.
