Escaped convicts Edwin Blas and Arcel Busto were picked up early Thursday morning in DanDan by police officers who were patrolling the area.

Blas was convicted of attempted rape and Busto for second-degree murder.

Four of the escapees are now in the police custody as the Department of Public Safety finally scored in its island-wide manhunt. Joseph Bowei and Ryan Babauta earlier turned themselves in.

The four other convicts who remain at large are Luis Camacho, William Sablan, Vicente Aldan Jr. and Jeffrey Celis.

Camacho was convicted of sexual abuse; Sablan for several counts of assault, battery and robbery; Aldan for second-degree murder; and Celis for robbery, burglary and theft.

According to DPS spokesperson Rose Ada, police officers spotted Blas and Busto walking near the Shell gasoline station in DanDan. No gunshots were shot as the police took the two escapees in at around 6 AM.

Bystanders said they didn’t notice both convicts until the police officers arrived at the station. There was no reported overnight stake-out held at its vicinity.

The DPS is currently gathering information from the four inmates about their escape last Monday night and appropriate actions will be taken after the investigation.

After three days of search, DPS Commissioner Charles Ingram said his office declines to offer cas reward to informants and no shoot to kill order was issued for the escapees.

But DPS is asking the public to report any information that will lead to the capture of the four criminals who are still on the loose. It also reminded people to remain on-guard with their immediate surroundings.
