Following the success of their first ever Island Artist Exhibit, the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture is now hosting its annual Women’s Exhibit at the Saipan Grand Hotel lobby in Susupe.
Visual and traditional coordinator Darrell Moteisou said the artworks of female artists from the Island Artist Exhibit are now part of the Women’s Exhibit which aims to highlight female traditional and contemporary local artists.
At least 10 female artists are featured in the exhibit that’s free to the public and will run until the end of the month.
“We expect to have more female artists display in the next few days their creations at this exhibit,” Moteisou told Saipan Tribune.
Moteisou said that the Arts Council is thankful to the management and staff of the Saipan Grand Hotel for providing them the venue to hold their two exhibits.
“We are optimistic that the Women’s Exhibit will be as successful as the Island Artist Exhibit,” he added.
Moteisou revealed that the Island Artist Exhibit sold over $2,000 worth of arts and crafts.
“The hotel lobby is really a great venue for the exhibit because it draws the interest of the tourists and hotel guests, majority of whom are the ones who buy the artists’ masterpieces,” he added.
