The Governor’s Celebrity Golf Invitational Tournament will be hosted by the Kingfisher Golf Links on Friday, July 16, as part of the Northern Marianas Sports Challenge activities, according to Bill Sakovich, chairman of the NMSC Board.

Guest athletes and participants will compete in an 18-hole best ball golf tournament with a shotgun start at 7:00 AM.

Special activities include a longest drive contest, putting contest and more. There will be a chance to win a Triple J Motors automobile in the hole-in-one contest, as well as other cash prizes.

Entry fee is $200 for a single entry or $175 for NMSC members. A special rate of $750 is available for four entries.

An entry fee of $20 will charged for those participating in the long drive and putting contests or $10 for holder of NMSC cards. Participants may enter the contests as many times, and all proceeds will go to the Sports Challenge. Hole sponsors go for $1,000 each.

The entry fee includes more than you bargain for with entry to Casino Night at the Tinian Dynasty on Thursday, July 15, where everyone is encouraged to join in the bidding for the best golf teams, and pairing of teams will take place.

A pot prize will be set up where the winners can split the share among themselves with a portion going to the Sports Challenge. The fee also includes the golf tournament and entry for the Gala Dinner and Awards Banquet at the Pacific Islands Club that same evening.
