Caught in the act

This thief was complacent but not so smart. He tried yesterday to burglarize a restaurant in Capitol Hill at the time when early risers in the neighborhood were already getting up from their beds.

At 6:00 AM., the alleged thief identified only as Blas, tried to force open the back door of Coffee Care restaurant behind Vestcor Apartment.

Matty Buenventura, a neighbor who owns a store next door, said a resident saw the thief from his apartment window and called the police.

The police promptly arrived and caught Blas in the act of trying to open the restaurant’s door with a metal bar.

He was handcuffed and brought to the police station.
