Plumeria Dreams ’99

It was a fun night to greet 9-9-1999. Organized by the Visit the Marianas 99 Planning Committee, together with the Marianas Visitors Authority, the Plumeria Dreams 99 event was designed to enhance visitors’ enjoyment while here on holiday. It was also meant to increase the community’s awareness of the value of tourism and to create a marketing opportunity that will bring repeat visitors to the Northern Marianas.

Those who have been named Honorary Tourism Ambassadors came back for a special recognition dinner at Hard Rock Cafe in their honor by Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio and Lt. Gov. Jesus Sablan.

An Island Wedding Fashion Show was held at Nikko Hotel on Sept. 11, 1999 participated in by local beauties and dashing young men on the island who showed their form in different types of clothes. But the biggest surprise that warmed everyone’s heart was the wedding of Shigeru Matsuo of Hyatt Hotel and Tomoko Matsuo who flew in from Kanagawa, Japan. Federal Judge Alex Munson officiated the wedding ceremony towards the end of the fashion show. (LFR)
