Coconut connection
On behalf of the board of directors and members of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank the following legislators who took the time to join us last night for our “Coconut Connection’ event and/or our morning breakfast briefing with the legislature last Thursday: Speaker Diego Benavente, Rep. Frank Cepeda, Rep.
Manuel Tenorio, Rep. Rosiky Camacho, Rep. Karl Reyes, Senate Vice President Thomas Villagomez, and Sen. Juan Tenorio.
I would also like to thank Governor Pedro P. Tenorio, Senate President Paul Manglona and other top government officials who have attended our breakfast briefings during the past year.
It is heartening to know that our elected leaders care about the views of the business community and are willing to take time from their busy schedules to listen to our views on important issues.
In these difficult economic times, it is especially important that businesses and government work together as a team. Such teamwork and mutual understanding is critical to stabilizing our economy and improving the investment climate.
We hope that the people of our islands recognize that a good quality of life depends upon a healthy economy that breeds successful businesses which in turn pay taxes and offer the products and services our community depends upon.
Lynn A. Knight
Chamber vice president
