With the $3 million donation of the Larry L. Hillblom Foundation Inc. to the CNMI, the Commonwealth Health Center will be able to fund the training of medical practitioners here and treat patients suffering from cranial facial problems.

The Foundation has specified that $2.5 million will be spent on medical research which include the training of CNMI physicians and dentists at the University of California.

Some $500,000 will be used for the immediate care of patients residing in the CNMI who suffer from cranial facial problems, including cleft palate.

A surgeon from the University of California, San Francisco will be coming here to evaluate patients to determine who among them need to be treated in the U.S. mainland.

Public Health Secretary Joseph Villagomez expressed his appreciation to the Hillblom Foundation in a recent meeting with its chairman Peter J. Donnici.
