Beermen came back to defeat Hi-Five in overtime 82-90. It was a good game from the start with both teams giving their best to get the victory.

Peter Camacho had 16 points, two assists, 10 rebounds and four steals, while Ric Alegre had five assists, nine rebounds, and four steals for the winners..

After Peter Camacbo scored a lay-up with 5 seconds remaining and Lite ahead 67-65, High-Five inbounded the ball to John Acosta. Acosta dribbled the ball near the three-point line and released the ball to beat the buzzer and sent the game overtime at 67 all.

John Acosta had 24 points while Jun Aaron contributed 18 points. Tim Wesley also had one assist, four block shots, 11 rebounds, and three steals. Derrek Reyes had two assists, 12 rebounds, and four steals in a losing cause.

High-Five took the lead in overtime by as much as seven points. With 2 minutes remaining and Tim Wesley committing his fifth foul, Lite Beer’s Jun Alipio knew exactly what to do. Alipio with his height advantage and Wesley gone, he unleashed an attack to score 15 points in the second half.

With 28 seconds remaining in overtime, Alipio was fouled and converted his bonus shots to give Lite Beer their a two-point lead against High-5.

In the second game, Marpac/Saipan Stevedore Mark Sharks won their first game of the season 85-79 by defeating Ol’Aces.

Sharks Luis Cepeda, an ex-Toyota Wheels player coming back from a long break from basketball, scored 20 points. Ray Lizama had 15 points, one assist, one block shot, grabbed six rebounds, and four steals. Tetsu Ochiyama also contributed one assist, two block shots, and pulled down 3 rebounds.

Dave Sablan had 21 points, two assists, four rebounds, two steals, and sank four three-pointers, while Freddie Pelisamen pitched in 12 points, one assist, three rebounds, four steals and a three-pointer in a losing cause.
