Advisory to tour operators

The Emergency Management Office advises Cessna, helicopters, mariners and local tour operators to stay away at least half a mile from Tinian Taga Beach from Dec. 31, 1999 thru Jan. 1, 2000 from 11:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.

EMO says Class B explosive fireworks activity will be conducted at the Taga Beach parking lot.

DPS checkpoints

The Department of Public Safety will set up today occupancy protection and child restraint checkpoints.

The checkpoints will be set up in the following sites:

• Beach Road, Susupe

11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

• 2W Puerto Rico

1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
