Tokushima fireworks on Saturday
The Tokushima Memorial Group and the Tokushima-Saipan Fireworks Association, together with their co-sponsors, Marianas Visitors Authority, Kan Pacific Saipan Ltd., and Kansai TV, announces the 2nd Annual Saipan Fireworks Festival to be held on Saturday, March 25, 2000, on the grounds of Mariana Resort Hotel in Marpi starting at 5:00 p.m. with tent sales by local vendors and music by local musicians, and culminating at 8:00 p.m. with a 30-minute display of fireworks.
The Tokushima Memorial Group and the Tokushima-Saipan Fireworks Association, in conjunction with their local co-sponsors, will light up the skies over Banzai and Suicide Cliffs that evening with a spectacular show of fireworks of different colors and brightness as a way to please the spirits of civilians who perished at both cliffs and to remember their sacrifices as well as to strengthen cultural ties with the people of the CNMI.
This fireworks extravaganza will mark the culmination of the group’s annual prayer pilgrimage to the CNMI and the public is invited to be part of the festivities.
As part of the event, Tokushima have also donated 1000 bedsheets to the Commonwealth Health Center.
