“The state is that great fiction by which everyone tries to live at the expense of everyone else.”–Frederic Bastiat

Senator Trent Lott, George W. Bush and other prominent American Republicans have recently expressed grave reservations concerning the US Census. They say that the “long form” is much too intrusive, and that Americans really ought to think twice before supplying the federal government with such highly personal information.

On the other side of the political fence, liberal Democrats have condemned the Republicans for daring to defend individual rights. They say that the information requested is absolutely necessary for the proper distribution of vital federal funds throughout the land.

In the future, if the big government Democrats have their way, the dreaded “long form” might well be further expanded into more intimate areas of our lives.
Let us now ponder what the US Census 2010 long form might possibly include, for example.

Possible US Census 2010 Long Form
Questionnaire:

Question # 246: Do you sometimes experience difficulty producing a solid erection for an extended (30 minute) duration?

Question # 246: On average, approximately how many times do you and your spouse or partner engage in sexual intercourse each week?

Note: These questions are absolutely vital. Please answer them honestly, as they may help to bring much needed federal funding of Viagra to your local community.

Question # 345: Approximately how many sexual partners have you had in the last two months?

Question # 346: Are you heterosexual, bi-sexual, or homosexual?

Question # 347: Do you frequently experience a painful, burning sensation when you urinate?

Question # 348: Have you ever purchased the services of a prostitute?

Question # 349: Have you committed adultery in the last six months?

Note: These questions are needed to determine federal funding for STD centers, Gay and Lesbian Community Resource Centers, marriage counseling programs, as well as local and regional compliance with Homosexual affirmative action programs.

Question # 441: Have you ever used marijuana, cocaine, ice, or other recreational drugs?

Question # 442: Do you get high or drunk at least once a week?

Special Note: These questions will not be shared with law enforcement agencies. They are to be used exclusively for the federal allocation of drug rehabilitation programs/ subsidies throughout the nation.

As you can plainly see, once the federal government is granted a wide latitude in asking us about our mental and physical disabilities, race and income, and so forth, there is no telling where it might eventually lead to in the future. One thing, however, is certain: our liberties are threatened.
