Toursim Month kicks off in May
On Thursday, May 4, 2000, there will be soft kick-off at the Garapan Street Market where the Marianas Visitors Authority will officially announce the start of “Tourism Month”. A special booth will be put up at the Street Market where interested participants can sign up for the many events and activities planned for Tourism Month.
The Ayuda Fun Run is planned for Saturday, May 6th, starting from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Proceeds from this event will go to Karidat, CNMI Youth Center for Music and Performing Arts, and Crime Stoppers. The venue for this event will be from the pathway starting at Kilili Beach with the turn around point at Triple J Motors. The

The official kick-off for Tourism Month will commence on Saturday, May 6th with a ceremony at the American Memorial Park in conjunction with the opening of the Taste of the Marianas. The public is invited to come down and enjoy the festivities and to sample the tasty delicacies that will be available at the various booths that will be set up for this event. The Taste of the Marianas will be held every Saturday in the month of May at the American Memorial Park. Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio will be on hand to deliver the opening remarks and the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to kick off this event.
On Saturday, May 13th, starting from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the Saipanda Bike Race will take place starting at the Marianas Resort with two different courses set up for the Family Race and the Professional Race. The age limit for this event is 12 years old and up. Proceeds from this event will go to Karidat, CNMI Youth Center for Music and Performing Arts, and Crime Stoppers. On Saturday, May 20th, starting at 7:00 a.m., a Charity Golf Tournament will take place at the Marianas Country Club with the awards ceremony commencing right after at Pau Pau Beach. Proceeds from this event will go to Karidat, CNMI Youth Center for Music and Performing Arts, and Crime Stoppers.
