Inos passes Washington Bar
It was Daddy’s dream for her to become a lawyer someday. And she was not even thinking of pursuing that profession at first.
But when Elaine Inos, 27, was in her second year in Seattle University taking up her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy, she decided she would like to be a lawyer after all. Elaine found out this weekend that she passed the Washington Bar.
“It’s a lot of hard work but the most important thing is you really have to enjoy what you’re doing,” she said.
While she has always been interested in focusing on foreign policy, her decision to go home in September 1999 has led her to work in the Family Court with Judge Virginia Onerheim.
Public service is what Elaine likes to do best thus it is no wonder that she finds so much happiness in working at the Family Court. In fact, she believes that a lot of young people right now should be encouraged into entering the legal profession so that they can help provide easier access to the court.
“Don’t be discouraged by what you hear about how hard it is to be a lawyer. At first, it is scary but later on you’ll find it a wonderful experience and a great accomplishment,” she said. She is planning to take the CNMI Bar in July.
Elaine took up law at Seattle University where she also finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy as well as Master’s Degree in Public Administration. She was the class valedictorian when she graduated at Marianas High.
