Taxicab meter inspection

The Department of Commerce is informing taxicab owners and operators that beginning June 6, 2000 all taxicab meters will be inspected and sealed.

Pursuant to Weights and Measures Law 4 CMC, Div. 5 Subsection 5423 and Bureau of Taxicab Regulation No. 1500, Part G, Section 1507.9 requires that all taxicab meters must be inspected and tested for accuracy. Therefore, all taxicabs vehicle must be brought to the Department of Commerce beginning next Tuesday to comply with this requirement.

Failure to comply with this requirement will result with the meter being rejected and placed under stop use order. There will be no fees imposed on this requirement until further notice.
