Former Marianas Cable Vision reporter Catherine P. Anderson has been appointed deputy press secretary at the governor’s Public Information Office.

In her new position, Ms. Anderson assumes responsibility for public correspondence, media coordination and speech writing among other duties, according to a statement released by the PIO.

“I consider the governor’s appointment a privilege,” said Ms. Anderson in the statement. “Whether it be dealing with our local people or foreign dignitaries, helping the Commonwealth live up to its greatest potential is a challenge I accept wholeheartedly.”

Ms. Anderson was most recently employed for two years as a reporter for the KMCV news 7.

A native of Saipan, Ms. Anderson graduated summa cum laude in 1995 with a B.A. degree in Broadcasting from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. In her leisure time, she enjoys non-fiction novels, movies with the latest special effects and adventures with her three-year-old son.
