Red Cross assists fire victims
Last Friday evening, when most people were ending their workweek and starting their weekend, Red Cross volunteers were activated to provide assistance to the victims of a structure fire in Chalan Kanoa.
Nearly 20 persons were displaced by the fire with one family losing their home, their personal belongings and their business. Two volunteers worked for nearly four hours to ensure the victims of the fire had their emergency needs met.
In keeping its promise to the people of the CNMI, the Red Cross was there to provide shelter, clothing, food and to meet other disaster volunteers who comprise the Action Team.
