The NMC Small Business Development Center assisted over 200 business people and entreprenures during its June Small Business Month training series.

One of the workshops, “Start Your Own Business,” had over 20 registrants on all three islands. Those who failed to register can attend the workshop in August. The free-to-the-public workshop will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Center’s Conference Room (Building T). Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and light refreshments will also be avaliable. The workshops begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.

The purpose of the workshop is to present to entreprenures the services the SBDC provides and the importance of business planning.
Participants will also learn the factors that can improve their chances for a successful business start-up, and how to start a business and market it on a tight budget.

According to staff business consultant Dirk Sharer, “We always have solid participation and expect attendance to be strong again this month. Moreover, we are in the process of adding follow-on programs, such as Business Plan for Success, to assist the attendees prepare a business plan that they can bank on.”

The Center’s conference room has recently been renovated to accommodate about 20 attendees. This will allow for maximum participation and idea generation.
