MBA Students of the Month
Marianas Baptist Academy (MBA) has selected John Lee (a seventh grader), Hedwig Hofschneider ( a sophomore), and Aileen Ada (a senior) as Students of the Month.
The MBA Student of the Month (Junior High School), John Lee, is the son of Yang Hun Lee and Hoe In Lee of Navy Hill. In addition to being the only seventh grader in the algebra class, John exercises his academic skills as a member of the MBA math counts and Geography Bee teams. Not only does he spend time studying for his classes at MBA, but he also takes violin classes outside to improve his skills. John has been an avid violin player for the past seven years. During that time, he has been to violin camps four different times in Aspen, Colorado and Boston, Massachusetts.
Hedwig Hofschneider is the MBA student of the month (9th and 10th grades). Hedwig is an A-Honor-Roll student. the son of the late Hedwig V. Hofschneider and Amy A. Hofschneider of San Antonio, he garnered a grand total of twenty-five points, the most he’s ever received in one National Forensic League (NFL) Competition.
He currently holds a Degree of Merit (25 points) from NFL standards and is only three points away from achieving the Degree of Honor (75 points). Hedwig is also MBA’s Yearbook Assistant Editor-In-Chief, member of the Panasonic Team, and the NFL Public Relations Officer.
The MBA Student of the Month (11th and 12th grades) is Aileen Ada. She is the daughter of William Ada of San Vicente. Along with her activities as the MBA Student Council President, Aileen has time to play an active role as the Youth Congress Senator for MBA. Aileen has achieved countless awards in her high school career to include many essay contests, numerous categories of the NFL Competition, and four awards in the past Annual Speech and Drama Competitions.
After placing second as part of the first Mock Trial Competition (Prosecution Team) and placing third in the Family Violence Speech Contest, Aileen decided to increase her speaking abilities by taking Stanford’s Speech Communication Course under the Junior Statesman of America (JSA) Summer School Program this past July.
MBA Students of the Month are chosen because of their character, leadership skills, and academic performance. Marianas Baptist Academy is a Christian, college preparatory school committed to academic excellence and dedicated to the teaching of the fallen man’s hope of salvation by faith alone through Jesus Christ.
