Hyatt Regency-Saipan is gearing up for a grand celebration of its 20th year on the island, kicking off with the completion of its $40,000 canopy at the hotel’s poolside.

Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio and Marianas Visitors Authority Deputy Managing Director Vicky Benavente led the ribbon cutting ceremonies Monday night, which was attended by Hyatt Regency’s patrons and vendors.

Malcolm Omond, food and beverage director, said the canopy was designed and erected to accommodate requests from guests and customers to hold outside functions that would allow them to enjoy the hotel’s landscape.

“The idea behind the construction of this canopy is to accommodate requests from our guests who want to hold functions outside. We built this so our guests can enjoy being outside,” said Mr. Omond after the ribbon cutting rites.

All of Hyatt’s in-house restaurants are participants to the various packages offered by the facility to guests and patrons who may be interested to hold functions at the new canopy.
