What students think about Thanksgiving
In celebrating our country’s most famous tradition, we made sure that our children’s views about Thanksgiving is included in this edition. We asked Mrs. Linda Bliven’s students at Mt. Carmel for their views of Thanksgiving. Here are their answers:
“It is a day to thank God for what he has given us”.
“We celebrate Thanksgiving to be thankful for our friends, family and our life”.
“I celebrate Thanksgiving because it doesn’t really matter to me, but it represents peace between two people and thanks to God”.
“We celebrate Thanksgiving because we are being reminded of how the Indians and the Pilgrims lived together and help each other out.”
“We celebrate Thanksgiving to give thanks to the Lord for all the good things He blessed us with. It is also a time for us to gather together and spend qualitytime with each other”.
“Thanksgiving is celebrated because of the Indian and pioneers. They helped each other through hardships. So, they celebrated Thanksgiving with turkey to thank God for everything”.
“We celebrate Thanksgiving because it is the day that we give thanks to the Lord for everything He has done for us. Heis our savior”.
“I think that Thanksgiving is important because it’s a day when we stop and give thanks for all the things we’ve been given”.
“We celebrate Thanksgiving to be thankful for what we have, our food, shelter and everything”.
“We celebrate Thanksgiving because we have to thank God for giving us everything, our families, friends, food, shelter and love….”
“We celebrate Thanksgiving to ‘thank God’ for all the gifts He has given us…our families and a chance to be together”.
