The Garapan Street Market, a weekly event sponsored by the Marianas Visitors Authority, showcasing local artists and entertainers, food and merchandises representing the various ethnic groups from around the Pacific Rim, has been held every Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., since December 2, 1999.

With thanks to the combined support from private sector and the government agencies that are involved, the market continues to grow in popularity among tourists and locals as well.

Visitors to the market are treated to live entertainment during the hours the market is open at no charge. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of foods prepared by well-known local restaurant outlets.

Crafts people, artists, and other vendors who occupy the designated spaces in the market area provide a wide variety of locally made products, art works and assortment of flowers, clothing and farm produce all at very low prices. The Garapan Street Market is a place for families to safely gather and simply enjoy what the market offers.

Because of the success and acceptance of this event, the MVA and the Garapan Street Market Committee has announced that it will extend the Market’s weekly operation for another six months. The public is invited to enjoy and participate in what the Market has to offer.
