The Department of Public Safety and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be conducting a roadblock/checkpoint on the following dates, time, and location:

Feb. 19 at 7:00am – 9:00am, Beach Road Susupe in front of the Ada Gym; Feb. 19 at 1:30pm – 3:30pm along 2W Hwy Chalan Pale Arnold Road by the United States Army Reserves Center in Puerto Rico; Feb. 24 at 7:00am – 9:00am, Beach Road Susupe in front of Multi-Purpose Building, and on Feb. 24 at 1:30pm – 3:30pm, 2W Hwy Chalan Kiya by the CUC Waterloo Station.

This will be the first roadblock/checkpoint conducted between DPS and BMV pursuant to the Mandatory Liability Auto Insurance Act.

The roadblock/checkpoint aims to identify and cite violators for failure to have in the vehicle’s possession a valid motor vehicle insurance indicating the required minimum liability insurance or copy of the mandatory minimum liability auto insurance policy for operating a vehicle on the highways of the CNMI.

The public is encouraged to get at least the required minimum liability auto insurance for their vehicles and to have the insurance policy and/or card in the vehicle at all times. All vehicles stopped at the roadblock/checkpoint will be required to present their auto insurance policy and or card.
