Drugs and gov’t. employees
The Issue: Government employees testing positive for drugs isn’t an encouraging tidings at all.
Our View: Random test should be conducted in all departments and agencies to weed out drug users.
The use of fatal drugs must have re-invaded these islands in recent years when we thought it has subsided. It isn’t surprising that some employees of the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation have tested positive for drugs. Perhaps this problem isn’t limited to CUC, but may be widespread elsewhere in government quarters.
There are two vital issues warranting resolution: 1.) Refer drug users to a rehabilitation center to undergo detoxification program. 2.) Ask for assistance from these users who the peddlers are, especially the king pins. The CNMI can no longer afford polite niceties on lethal substance that have contributed to the disintegration of families right here in paradise.
Believe it or not, the use of shabu has ruined the lives of people we know. Some were caught in the safety net of rehabilitation while others weren’t as successful as to have died in their sleep. Unfortunately, they’ve fried their brains and have overworked their heart to ruination and death. This form of destruction need not be passed on to young minds who’re also trying to figure their way around responsibly as young adults. They deserve better than the violence and filial disintegration that has re-invaded these isles in recent years.
For peddlers, perhaps the vicious madness for fast cash via the sale of poisonous and lethal drugs may have blurred or blinded your vision. We hope you realize that your role in the gradual destruction of families and young minds in these isles is nothing better than criminal. Furthermore, would you feed your spouse and children lethal drugs that would turn them into total waste?
The Northern Marianas Community can no longer shove this issue aside as a passing cotton ball. It needs to be resolved and it takes your cooperation to shed some hope on families and young children who may be on the brink of destruction from drugs. Pitch-iin today. It’s our community, it’s our families, it’s our children. Let’s show them that there’s something greater and better than the nether world of drugs. Do it today! Si Yuus Maase`!
