Perfect Setting wins PBA-CBC 7th season title

Perfect Setting ran away with the championship of the Philippine Bowling Association-Capitol Bowling Center 7th season, which concluded last Friday, March 30. The team ended with 64 wins against 20 loses for a winning percentage of over 69 percent in the 24-week season.

For the tournament, Perfect Setting posted an 810 average in toppling a total of 64,051 pins with a handicap of 150. The team also recorded a game high of 946 and a series high of 2,676. While handicap game high was 1,090 and 3,086 for a series.

Perfect Setting was followed in the standings by LNT, which ended with 60 1/2 points against 31 1/2 losses for a winning percentage of more than 65 percent.

LNT downed 62,934 pins in the entire tournament for averages of 802 with a handicap of 156. Its game high was 860 and series high was 2,452. Handicap for a game was 1,050 and for a series was 2,962.

Ideal Numbers rounded out the top three teams in the tournament after finishing with 57 1/2 wins against 34 1/2 losses for a winning percentage of 62.5 percent for the season.

The team registered an average of 742 after toppling 62,927 pins. Ideal Numbers played with a team handicap of 204. Game high was 854 and series was 2,402. For handicap, it recorded 1,056 for the game and 3,005 points for the series.

Perfect Setting is composed of Jhun Banadera, Jeff Cania, Efren Cacdac, Med Magtipon, John Soriano, Romy Sotto, Efren Taburnal and Elimar Vergara.

LNT is made up of Pablo Bacud, Toti Balita, Noel Cabug, Artemio Nuncio, Arvin Orense, Graciano Pilongco, Manolo Reyes, Ray Rimotin, Merwin Marcelo and Ernie Mariano.

Bowlers for Ideal Signs include Boyet Asuncion, Ray Castro, Sheldon Dela Riva, Nick Geronilla, Tommy McKenzie, Danny Paquerez and Raymond Tolentino.

For individual performances, Richard Leong of Onwel Manufacturing had the best average in the tournament. Mr. Leong accounted for 10,396 pin falls in 54 games for an average of 192 with a handicap of six.

He was followed by Verizon Pacifica’s Danny Robles and Star Air Freight Micronesia’s Raymond Zapanta with identical averages of 188 in the tournament.

Mr. Robles registered the 188 pin fall average after downing a total of 11,291 pins in 60 games with a handicap of nine. Mr. Zapanta, on the other hand, accomplished the feat after toppling 4,515 pins in just 24 games with also a handicap of nine.

Mr. Robles, however, ran away with the highest pin fall total for the entire tournament, despite trailing Mr. Leong in average pin falls, simply because he played six more games than the Onwel Manufacturing bowler.
