Oleai teachers win fellowships
Two Oleai Elementary School teachers have been awarded Christa McAuliffe Fellowships from the CNMI Public School System. Both teachers submitted proposals which would include training for all Oleai faculty members.
In their notification letters, the teachers were told that “your proposal represents one of the most innovative ideas within the entire Public School System.”
Mayolina Hocog received a fellowship for her proposal “Successful Implementation of Reading, Writing and Learning Strategies.” Funding for this proposal will provide five workshops for Oleai teachers.
Orpha Singeo is a fellowship winner for her proposal “Success with Internet teachers in the classroom.” A series of workshops will be scheduled for teachers prior to the beginning of the 2001-02 school year to provide staff development.
