The Liberation Day Committee is encouraging many of the CNMI’s beautiful and intelligent ladies to take part in the prestigious Liberation Day Queen pageant.
“The crowning of the Liberation Day Queen is one of the most anticipated events of the year,” said Reina Camacho, chairperson of the Liberation Day Queen Committee. “We will work very hard this year to make this part of the Liberation celebration the best ever.”
The Liberation Day Royal Court activities have traditionally been a part of the annual Liberation Day celebration, in which the people of the Commonwealth commemorate the anniversary of the opening of Camp Susupe back in 1945.
Companies, schools, families, and various organizations may also take part in the sponsorship of the candidates.
“There are many eligible ladies here in the Commonwealth,” Ms. Camacho said. “This pageant will allow these ladies, if they choose to become candidates, to take part in new experiences, to meet new people, and to grow personally. They are in fact ambassadors of the Commonwealth.”
Raelene Camacho of As-Lito, Saipan, was crowned Liberation Day Queen in last year’s celebration.
This year’s royal court will participate in an array of activities including the Liberation parade, coronation ball, as well as a press conference, photo shoot, and other related activities. The queen will also participate in a similar Liberation parade held in Guam.
Females who have never been married and who are between the ages of 16 and 22 are encouraged to become candidates. Those interested or who need more information are asked to call Reina Camacho at 234.5498 ext. 1703 or Joan Torres at 234.5498 ext. 1278.
