5 hurt in road mishap

A road mishap that occurred past midnight Wednesday sent five people to the local health center for treatment, after sustaining undetermined degree of injuries, according to police.

The accident happened by the 16 highway in Chalan Kiya were a 1990 Toyota Corolla four-door sedan wound up in a rough overturn right off the road for reasons still unknown.

Police records reveal that the vehicle rammed into a gas pump owned by the Mobil gas station, causing the fixed object to be uprooted from its base.

It was not immediately known whether the auto-object crash caused fuel to leak from the gas pump.

The case is still pending investigation by the Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Bureau. (MM)
