A Saipan resident almost had a cow over the recent loss of his farm crops. The alleged culprits? Five young cows.

Police received a criminal mischief complaint over the weekend from a 69-year-old Papago resident who claims his sweet potato plants, papaya and coconut trees, were devoured by a brood of cows.

The victim told authorities it was not the first time the animals allegedly entered his farm plot area to consume his would-be harvests.

According to police, the man already had a suspicion as to who owned the cows.

Official records reveal that the animals are possibly owned by the victim’s neighbor in the village of Papago.

Police are currently investigating the case. (MM)
