PIC-Powerade tennis championship up
PIC and Coca Cola will once again host the 2nd Annual PIC-Powerade Tennis Tournament starting with exciting doubles action on the weekend of April 19.
Meanwhile, the draw for men’s, women’s and mixed open divisions will take place on April 16.
The action will be split over two weeks with the singles competition scheduled to take place the following weekend after the doubles tourney on April 26.
The draw for the men’s and women’s open and ‘B’ divisions will be on April 22. All entry forms and fees of $25 per participant will be due the day before on April 21 not 1ater than 5pm.
All participants will be provided with waterpark passes to keep them cool in between games. The tournament will once again be handing out cash prize to those who survive the action and take the title.
The amount of prize money is not yet known since the total number of entries for the tournament directly determines it.
“Our main goal is to put on an event where Saipan tennis players can get together and have some fun and get some solid competition at the same time,” PIC’s Activities Manager Cole Pritchard said.
Coca Cola has once again joined PIC as the primary sponsor for this event.
“We are very lucky to have a company like Coca Cola in our community. They have always been very supportive when it comes to events like this,” added Pritchard.
Anyone interested in participating in the action can pick up entry forms at the PIC information counter from 9am to 6pm daily. Any questions can be directed to Cole Pritchard or Jon Cramer at 235-6231 ext. 5147. (Mark Rabago)
