WSR kindergarten class ends year
William S. Reyes held another graduation ceremony early Wednesday morning, this time with their kindergarten students.
As with the Head Start graduation ceremonies, the 77 kindergarten graduates also took the stage, overlooking family members and fellow “kingfishers.” The kingfisher is the official mascot of the WSR elementary school.
After welcoming the crowd, principal Alfred B. Ada led other WSR teachers in handing out the certificates of completion to the graduates. The students were asked to stand up as their instructors announced their names.
Teachers Antonia Okawa, Ramona Taro, and Mrs. Lee then presented the students with awards, recognizing those with perfect attendance and the most well behaved in class.
Mardy Barcinas, who belongs in Mrs. Okawa’s class, received the overall perfect attendance of the year.
Following the announcement of awards was the closing song. The graduating students were mobbed by parents, who gathered by the stage to take pictures of their children singing.
The teachers of the kindergarten class shared with the parents and graduates their gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work and commitment that the students showed, making the year a memorable one.
