Natural cause seen in motel death

An autopsy conducted Wednesday at the Commonwealth Health Center on the woman found dead at a motel showed that she died of natural causes relating to her medical history.

An autopsy conducted Wednesday at the Commonwealth Health Center on the woman found dead at a motel showed that she died of natural causes relating to her medical history.

According to Department of Public Safety public information officer Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr., the findings of the examination conducted by Dr. Aurelio Espinola, chief medical examiner from Guam, showed no signs or evidence of injury that ties in with foul play and suicide.

The woman, 34-year-old Sun Hee Lee, was found dead at the San Jose Motel located behind San Jose Church on May 20.

The Department of Public Safety received a call at 1:04pm requesting authorities to check on an individual found unresponsive in one of the rooms of the establishment.

Police report indicated that police and medics responded to the scene and found Lee in room No. 18.

The victim was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Leon Hart.

Investigation showed that the victim was seen by tenants of the establishment between 5:30am and 6am on the said date. According to the tenants, the victim seemed fine.

Later in the afternoon, an employee went to check on the victim in her room and received no response. The employee managed to open the door and discovered the victim in bed and unresponsive. The report also showed that the victim had a history of illness and had been under medication.
