Dai-Ichi summer camp unfolds
With most students finally completing the school year, summer vacation is now in full swing—a perfect time to present children various activities that would keep them on their feet and active.
Toward this end, the Sports and Recreation department of the Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach has started its summer camp, dubbed as Summer Club Activities. It kicked off last Sunday at the hotel’s premises in Garapan by playing host to about 14 youngsters. The camp features a series of activities that will run through to August 8.
According to coordinator Ketut Renaya, registration is still ongoing and open to all children between the ages of four to 12. The cost for each day of participation is $10 per child who is a CNMI resident and $20 for guests or others.
The camp begins at 9am and concludes at 5pm everyday.
Among the activities lined up for the kids are coloring and drawing competitions, treasure hunts, movie time, swimming, and kite festivals, to name a few.
Renaya said a set of activities has been designated for each week.
“We have various activities, both indoors and outdoors that the kids can take part in,” he said. “All these activities are aimed at providing the kids with a fun time, especially since not many have plans for the summer. So far, everything is going great and the kids are really enjoying themselves.”
In his first day at camp, 11-year-old Richard K. Welch was enthusiastic about the events and expressed his desire to continue with the program.
“I like it,” he said. “This is fun and I want to keep on doing this.”
