Authorities took into custody three men allegedly involved in Monday morning’s armed robbery incident at a poker establishment in Garapan.

According to Department of Public Safety public information officer Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr., the three male suspects were arrested the night of the incident after investigation by the Thief Apprehension Select Coalition team of the Criminal Investigation Bureau revealed their identities.

Arrested were 18-year-old Vincent John Castro, 19-year-old Vincent San Nicolas Norita, and 19-year-old Moses Martin.

“The suspects were all located in the evening hours and were taken into custody. They were booked and detained at the Adult Correctional Facility in Susupe waiting for their initial court appearance,” said Blas.

The three suspects, reportedly armed with knives and a baseball bat, allegedly robbed the RC Poker located on the first floor of the Cabrera Center at about 2:53am.

Blas said the suspects stole over $3,000 in cash and coins from the cash box, and a pouch owned by the cashier, 26-year-old Zhen Ben Li.

Investigators managed to recover $1,295.25 from the suspects and the weapons allegedly used during the incident: a baseball bat, machete, and knife.

Police report indicated that the suspects allegedly kicked open the door of the cashier’s booth and assaulted the cashier, forcing him to the ground. The three then allegedly took money from the cash box before fleeing the scene.

Li sustained a minor cut on his upper right arm.

The incident was earlier referred to as the NMI Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.
